Turmeric is part of the family that also contains cardamom and ginger root. The active ingredient in turmeric is known as curcumin which is a mixture of various health-promoting phytonutrients called curcuminoids. Curcuminoids are found naturally in turmeric at around 3%. This curcumin has been extracted from turmeric at 95% therefore increasing its strength. These are what give turmeric powder its distinct deep yellow colouring. In addition to its benefits as a natural supplement, curcumin is also used as a culinary spice and Food coloring.

Dosage: 1/2 teaspoon daily
